Games Day Information
The goal of The Gamers Cavern is to provide a safe and structured environment for games players to interact by providing venues and contacts to other gamers and games groups and to promote social growth and the formation of new friendships. The group was set up not to specialise in any one type of gaming persuit, but instead seeks to attract all types of gaming persuits, whether it be board, card, RPG or computer gaming, or even to games such as chess and backgammon.
To this end, The Gamers' Cavern provides a venue for gaming on one Sunday afternoon each month with the assistance of Downunder Nite Club in Port Macquarie. This is usually held on the third sunday of the month where possible
It has been over 6 months since the cavern gamers got together for a full-on games day. This was due in part to family pressures and holidays (like Christmas)
Over the past month there have been a number of meetings and many emails between various members to get everything up and running again.
We have been looking at revamping things such as the PBEM's that were very active at one stage, and a number of these will be re-introduced.
It is important to remember that the reason that these PBEM's were dropped in the first place was the immense amount of effor that the Game Masters had to put into running the games and the apparent lack of interest on the part of some players to meet the deadlines.
To this end, there will be no leeway in taking submissions from players in the future. If there is a cut-off date or time, this will be strictly adhered to. If players miss the deadline, you miss having your orders or submission looked at. There will be no exceptions.
So what are we looking at here?
The Story Tellers Challenge
The storytellers challenge will be started again, and we are seeking a wider community of writers who may be willing to contribute. (Stay tuned)
We have already organised a group of markers, and the lead-in article is already under construction (many thanks to Tom Lake).
There will be a two (2) week turn-around and ten (10) chapters to complete the task.
A new Diplomacy PBEM will be offered in the near future. A one (1) week turn around with advances and retreats mid-week

The Gamers' Cavern is always seeking new players to join the community.
The inaugural games day was held on the afternoon of Sunday 19th March 2006. We would like to have input from games players interested in joining the group and attending our upcoming events.
On Wednesday 8th February 2006 a meeting of interested Port Macquarie Games Players was held. There was a decision made that a games group should be formed to cater for all types of games players in the local region.
